Obituary for Irene Cecilia (Uchelvich) Zadell

Irene Cecilia (nee Vadovich) (Uchelvich) Zadell, 93, of Cleveland, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2017, in the company of her family at Wickliffe Country Place.
She was born Aug. 6, 1924, in Cleveland.
Irene was one of the first female streetcar conductors during World War II. She had also worked as an inspector at Parker-Hannifin for 20 years, where she made many lifelong friendships. Irene loved being with her family and friends.
She was the loving mother of Richard (Elaine) Apanaites of Willoughby Hills and Michael (Tammy) Zadell of Willowick; cherished grandmother of Marlene (Terry) Skovenski of Willoughby Hills, Stacey Adams of Timberlake and Matthew Zadell of Orlando, Fla.; and great-grandmother of Russell Lamovec, Mallory Lamovec, Marissa Adams, Carolyn Adams and Jaclyn Adams.
Irene was preceded in death by her husband of 21 years, Louis Zadell; previous husbands, William Apanaites and Hank Uchelvich; mother, Cecilia Holub; and brother, John Holub.
Family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 38001 Euclid Ave., Willoughby, with a prayer service to be held at 6:30 p.m. Deacon Greg Leisure will officiate.
