Mrs. Remner passed away Saturday, June 10, 2017, at Hospice House of the Western Reserve in Cleveland.
Born July 17, 1941, in Ashtabula, she had lived in Ashtabula and Euclid before moving to Lake County 47 years ago.
Diane enjoyed bowling, baking, gambling at the casinos, gardening, and cardinals. She was an awesome baker and would constantly make food for everyone.
Mrs. Remner helped start the junior bowling program at Palisades Bowling Alley in Mentor back in the 1970s and was the coordinator for that program for more than 35 years. She touched the lives of many people over the years and was beloved by many. She was a board member of the Lake Geauga Bowling Council and WBA. Diane also won the David Dahms Award for Coach of the Year and was inducted into the WBA Hall of Fame for Meritorious Service. She always said her proudest accomplishment was raising two wonderful children. She will be missed forever.
She was the beloved wife of 19 years to Wayne G. Remner; loving mother of Allen J. (Angie) Delly and Karen D. (George) Hadden; sister of Carol Means (Bonnie) and Mary (Dave) Purtilo; and aunt of nieces and nephews.
Diane was preceded in death by her first husband, William A. Delly; and parents, Francis and Kathryne (nee Caskey) Smith.
Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 6330 Center St. (Route 615, north of Route 2), Mentor.
The family suggests contributions in her name be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675, online at www.woundedwarriorproject.org, or to the Veteran’s Organization of your choice.
