Funeral Mass for Sophie Bambic (nee Marich) Bambic, 96, of Mentor, will be 10 a.m. Friday, March 17, 2017, at St. Vitus Church, 6019 Lausche Ave., Cleveland.
Mrs. Bambic passed away Sunday, March 12, 2017, at her home surrounded by her family.
Born Sept. 15, 1920, in Cleveland, she lived in Euclid before moving to Lake County 10 years ago.
She was a member of St. Vitus Church and the St. Vitus Alumni. She was inducted into the 8th Grade Hall of Fame in 2015. The joys of her life were her children, grandchildren and anyone in need of help.
Sofia was the loving mother of Linda (John) Martinc and Alan “The Golden Child” (Linda) Bambic; cherished grandmother of Kim Chasar, Kenny Maxwell, Lisa Adomaitis, Gregory Martinc, Alan (Amy) Bambic, Scott (Liz) Bambic, Michael, Joshua and Michelle; great-grandmother of Jerry, Jeffrey, Jessica, Ryan, Madison and Mason; great-great-grandmother Jeffrey, Nadia, Julia, Aubrey, Georgie and Truman; and aunt of many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Rudolph Bambic; daughter, Diane Maxwell; grandchildren, Jeffrey Maxwell, Karen Wood and Billy Maxwell; parents, Mike and Mary (nee Bremus) Marich; and siblings, Mary Stragisher, Theresa Telban, Ann Kovacic, Louise Forgus and Mike Marich.
Family receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at The Abbey of Willoughby, 38011 Euclid Ave. (located on the grounds of McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home), in Willoughby. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.
