Celebration of Life services for John E. Christescu Sr., 65, of Mentor-on-the-Lake, will be 7:30 p.m. Friday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 6330 Center St. (Route 615, north of Route 2), Mentor.
Mr. Christescu passed away Monday, Feb. 6, 2017, at Lake Health West Medical Center in Willoughby.
Born Oct. 7, 1951, in Oxford, Pa., he had been a Lake County resident for 32 years, living in Mentor before moving to Mentor-on-the-Lake.
John was a member of Teamsters Local 407, served in the U.S. Coast Guard and loved motorcycles.
He was the beloved husband of 32 years to Michele L. (nee Takacs) Christescu; loving father of Matthew J. Christescu and Timothy Christescu; son of Dorcas (nee Stamper) Christescu; brother of George (Lois) Christescu, Michael (Kellie) Christescu and Andrew (Debbie) Christescu; uncle of nieces and nephews; and friend of many. He also leaves his dog, “Harley.”
John was preceded in death by his son, John E. Christescu Jr.; and father, Emil Christescu.
Family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
