Obituary for John Anthony Perno

Funeral Mass for John A. Perno, 77, a 38-year resident of Willoughby Hills, will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Immaculate Conception Church, 37940 Euclid Ave., Willoughby.
Mr. Perno entered into rest Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2015, at his residence.
John was born July 30, 1938, in Painesville, and had been a lifetime Lake County resident.
A 1956 graduate of Wickliffe High School, he went on to serve in the U.S. Army during the Cuban Missile Crisis. John’s was a life well lived. He traveled the world and was great with his hands. He was able to fix almost anything. John was also an avid golfer and exceptional gardener. He enjoyed sharing his homemade wine with friends and family.
Mr. Perno retired from Bailey Meter after 43 years of service.
John was a devoted family man and beloved husband of 24 years to Suzanne (nee Suleski); loving father of Daniel (Jennifer) Perno and Maria (Michael) McMahon; loving stepfather of Michael (Mary Lu) Lewis, Ralph Lewis, Jimmy Lewis and Deanne Lewis; proud grandfather of Chloe, Aiden, Daniel, Brandon, Gregory, Carrie, Jennie, Olivia and Devon; loving brother of Thomas (Roberta) Perno; brother-in-law of Linda (Paul) Ward, Agnes (Gerald) Bowling and Victoria Williamson; and uncle of many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Mary (nee Gattarello) Perno; sister, Mary (Delbert) Fasick; and brother-in-law, Ian Williamson.
Family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 38001 Euclid Ave., Willoughby. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.
