Obituary for Kathy Jo McPhillips (Frickman)
Mass of Christian Burial for Kathy McPhillips, 42, of Beachwood, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Gesu Parish, 2470 Miramar Blvd., University Heights, OH 44118. Fr. Michael Vincent will officiate.
Mrs. McPhillips passed away May 21, 2015.
Born May 14, 1973, in Cincinnati, she had been a resident of Cuyahoga County, living in Beachwood for the past 11 years.
Kathy was a John Carroll alumni, played both basketball and volleyball, was a die-hard avid Duke Basketball fan and loved coaching.
Mrs. McPhillips was a math specialist and a teacher at Notre Dame Intermediate School, teaching 7th and 8th grade math.
She was the beloved wife of Don McPhillips of Beachwood; loving mother of Haleigh, Jack and Samantha McPhillips; daughter of Darleen Frickman of Cincinnati; and sister of Kelly (Kirk) Merman of Cincinnati, Karen Frickman of Cincinnati and Kristin (Tony) DeStefano of Cincinnati.
Family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at The Fioritto Funeral Home, 5236 Mayfield Road, Lyndhurst (east of Richmond Road). Burial will be private.
Arrangements are entrusted to McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Homes in Willoughby and Mentor.
