Obituary for Helen Simon

Funeral Mass for Helen Simon, 92, of Eastlake, will be 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Justin Martyr Church, 35781 Stevens Blvd., Eastlake. Fr. Kevin Liebhardt will officiate the Mass. (Please meet at church.)
Mrs. Simon passed away Saturday, Jan. 13, 2018, at her residence.
Born July 15, 1925, in Brooklyn, N.Y., she had been a resident of Lake County for the past 15 years.
Helen was a member of the Eastlake Senior Center, where she participated with the Comfort Elves who donated handmade items to hospice patients, and loved playing cards, cooking, baking and crocheting.
She was the loving mother of Craig F. (Carol) Simon, Nancy A. (Jeff) Engel and Kenneth J. (Beverly) Simon; cherished grandmother of Lauren McElroy, Erin (George) Bellesis, Todd (Liz) Engel and Chad (Amanda) Engel; great-grandmother of Kenley, Brayden, James, Lily, Ellie, Noah, Owen and Dylan; and aunt of nieces and nephews.
Helen was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Frank J. Simon Nov. 9, 2000; parents, Theodore and Mary (nee Zarycka) Horhota; and siblings, William Horhota, Stella Horhota and Nick Horhota.
Family will receive friends from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 38001 Euclid Ave., Willoughby. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens in Avon.
