Obituary for Edward G Pierson

Edward G. Pierson of Ohio Living Breckenridge Village in Willoughby, Ohio, passed away July 27, 2017, surrounded by his loving family.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn; daughter, Melanie; son, Ward; grandsons, Chris and Dylan Springsteen; and his faithful dog, Charley.
Ed served in World War II in the U.S. Army Air Force and later in the U.S. Army Reserves. Ed graduated from Bowling Green State University and had a long career as a manufacturing engineer and manufacturing consultant. Ed’s career took the family to Michigan, Indiana, Pennsylvania and New York, as well as Ohio. As a consultant, he traveled to companies across the United States.
Ed and Marilyn traveled the world to Europe, Asia, Africa and South America. The family shared some memorable vacations in Costa Rica, Hawaii, Alaska, the Galapagos Islands and the Grand Canyon. Ed was a faithful servant of God, helping others in various capacities including as a Sunday school teacher, deacon, and a Stephens Minister. Ed appreciated art in many forms. He was a painter, and a woodworker, and built model ships. Throughout his life, Ed loved all animals, especially his dogs.
A service celebrating Ed’s life will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, August 19, 2017, at The Federated Church in Chagrin Falls.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Ohio Living Breckenridge Village, 36855 Ridge Rd., Willoughby, OH 44094 or The Federated Church, 76 Bell St., Chagrin Falls, OH 44023.
